Coming from South Dakota, where the Lakota men can be pretty darn romantic in song..I'd still have to say the Candian guys still have it.......

better round dance songs

I think the canadiens have one up on us just because they always sing round dances(they have them all winter long), but, the U.S. is coming on strong with groups like The Boyz, Pipestone, and Battle River. Its kind of an un-fair comparison,it's like asking who sings better side-steps........Ojibways(midwest ojibways) or canadiens.

rounddance

I would have to say canadians do have an edge when it comes to rounddance/handdrum songs. Their songs are more about love and beauty. USA drums sing funnyer songs, more entertaining and shocking. I personally think Pipe Stone, Battle River, and The Boyz are my favoritest though. But Canada has alot more groups that sing deadly rounddance

I say the Canadians. They have a really good sound but the United States has some pretty good sounding drum groups.

gotta say canadians ...

you havn't heard round dance until you've been at a community hall in the dead of winter packed full of ppl - standin room only at the door, the sound of ppl's feet sliding on the floor with a good "six-ring" line goin, or eatin a buttery bologna or balonie (lol) sandwich at lunch or gettin an apple during the apple dance song ... and those good ol canadian round dance songs sang live with "the big guns" beltin them out ...

This is so true. I went to Hobbema one night for a round dance after a dance. This was truly an experience to behold.

Several good singers from both "sides"

Initially my response was...."I don't believe in the border" Although you can't beat a good Canadian RD.....
