Drumsticks

I have posted this in the southern singing board but you nothern guys can help too. I got a question for ya. I'm trying to master the art of making drum sticks and it is kicking my butt. Can you guys send back some replies and let me know how you make the heads of your sticks? What do you use to wrap the head before you put the leather on? How do you get the shape of the head, ETC? basically how do you make the head of the drum stick? Appreciate any assistance.

well i dont make the drumsticks for my group..but my brother does as well as my friends. i see them use cloth, felt,or elastic bandage. to make the shape of the head. and use tape to hold it together. i hope that answers your question. or part of it.
