Good ole Hinckley. That used to be one of the best powwows to be at. Ever since an incident back in 2001, just ain't been the same. Different people run it, differernt staff and committee now. I still think its good, who knows, maybe it will be like it used to be, where it seemed like everyone was there.

post falls!!
hinckley is still a good powwow, though nothing like it used to be. back in the day they had 3 singing categories, and errybody and their mama showed up. these days just one singing contest, but still top notch singing. out of all the powwows i've been to, and i been to almost all of the big ones, i'd say the tuffest comp was in post falls, idaho at julyamsh. this year there was, midnite express, youngbird, northern cree, mountain soul, blackfoot confederacy, blacklodge, wild rose, pipestone, dry lake, young kingbird and many more. in years past there was also blackstone, bear creek, battle river, big bear, high noon, southern cree and many more. the prize money is out of this world, like $15,000 for first. errybody is stacked up 12-15 deep. schemitzun is definitely top notch,(when they have an open singing contest that is) and morongo is definitely right up there as well. denver definitely has alot of drums, but not as many big names as the others, while ggathering varies from year to year.

heck yeah that powwow has seen the best come and the best go, in both dancing and singing!! my dad won the 1st year golden age there and my sis won it in 2003, this powwow has to be one of the best!!! 15,000 in first for drums and dancers its 2,000, but it will always have its ups and downs!!
