Marion County Courthouse murals restored

Fairmont, West Virginia (AP) Over the past few years, the courthouse has undergone numerous renovations. Work has been done on a variety of different portions of the structure from the attic to offices, but one project will soon stand out above all the others. Sometime in the late 1800s, when the courthouse was under construction, three murals were placed on the third floor of the structure, said Mark Campbell, Marion County maintenance supervisor. One of the murals depicts David Morgan of the famous Morgan clan fighting Native Americans. One of the other murals is a representation of industry in the area while the other portrays agriculture. |
