Bishop injured in fall resigns
Gallup, New Mexico (AP)
Roman Catholic Bishop Donald Pelotte of Gallup, who has been recovering from head injuries in an apparent fall at his home, has resigned. Pope Benedict XVI accepted Pelotte’s request to resign in accordance with a provision of church cannon law that relates to a bishop’s “ill health or another serious reason,” according to a news release issued Wednesday by the diocese. |
