Tribal lawmakers send education proposal back to committee
By Felicia Fonseca
Albuquerque, New Mexico (AP) The Navajo board of education will remain intact for now, after the Tribal Council voted to send legislation to reduce the number of board members back to a committee. The Tribal Council voted 59-8 April 22 to return a proposal to cut the 11-member board to seven back to the Education Committee. The council is meeting in Window Rock, Ariz., for its spring session. |
