New Cherokee Degree Approved
This past spring, the Oklahoma State Board of Regents approved the new Bachelor of Arts in Education-Cherokee degree, to be offered at NSU. The Center for Tribal Studies has been closely involved in the development of this innovative degree program. Believed to be the first Bachelor's degree in the Cherokee language, this program is groundbreaking in the national effort to revitalize Native langauges. Soon, a new program director will be hired to oversee this degree program and to advise students majorig in this area. Until then, information can be obtained from the Center for Tribal Studies, tribalstudies@nsuok.edu.
