Polar bear killed near village in Interior

Fairbanks, Alaska (AP)

A polar bear wandering around the outskirts of a village 250 miles from the coast was killed over safety concerns.

The village of Fort Yukon is in Interior Alaska. The polar bear, which is a coastal bear, was spotted eating lynx carcasses. Zeb Cadzow killed it.

“There’s usually grizzly around this time of year,” Cadzow said. “You want to get rid of it because it’s hungry.”

YUP, north of Fairbanks. People around here are having a cow, by writing letters to the editor, complaining about it being shot. I put myself in Cadzow's position. Lets see I'm living inland in Interior Alaska, in a small cabin out in the bush with no major law-enforcement or hospital services. I go outside to see a full-size POLAR BEAR ripping apart my animals I just trapped.... I would probably go for my gun too, if I didn't faint first. It's global warming I tell you, it just is not normal to have a polar bear roaming around these parts of Alaska.
