Indian ceremonial burn of home of deceased leads to calls

San Pasqual Reservation, California (AP)

A Native American tradition of burning down a home after the owner dies led to a flurry of emergency calls as smoke billowed skyward southeast of Escondido.

The tribe set the home on the San PasqualReservation ablaze.
