UW-Stevens Point, Red Cliff Chippewa partner on lake herring study

With a growing demand for herring roe, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa are working together to find the best way to bring the fish to market. Fish farming has become more important as the Great Lakes herring population has decreased in the past 10 years. At the same time, there’s more demand for herring roe, or eggs. |
