Old geology reports opened under S.D. uranium records bill
By Joe Kafka
Pierre, South Dakota (AP) Old geology reports kept by South Dakota officials would become public records under legislation passed 54-14 during late February by the state House. The bill would keep mineral exploration data confidential until the end of the year unless firms that dredged up the information request that it be kept private for five more years, said Rep. Gordon Pederson, R-Wall. SB162 would apply only to geology information acquired before July 1, 1982. |
