Judge revokes former Pine Ridge councilman’s bond
Rapid City, South Dakota (AP)
A federal judge has revoked bond for former Oglala Sioux Tribal Councilman Don Garnier and ordered him back to New Mexico, where he faces drug charges in federal court. Garnier, 38, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and aiding and abetting a crime. He and a co-defendant were arrested Sept. 19 near Raton, N.M., after law enforcement officers found 21 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their car. Garnier says he did not know the marijuana was there. |
