Online college courses popular
Madison, South Dakota (AP)
Online courses offered by the public university system in South Dakota are becoming increasingly popular. The Board of Regents was told that nearly 14,500 students took online classes last year, an increase of 43 percent from 2004. Regents Executive Director Tad Perry said it is not only South Dakotans who are taking those courses. He said many nonresidents also are taking online classes. The public universities offer 641 courses on the Internet. The most popular course last year was English composition, followed by South Dakota Indian studies and college algebra. |
