Judge defends document sealing in North Dakota nickname case

Bismarck, North Dakota (AP) A judge is defending his sealing of court documents in the dispute over the University of North Dakota’s Fighting Sioux nickname, saying his goal of encouraging a settlement of the case was “most certainly in the public’s interest.” Northeast Central District Judge Lawrence Jahnke, in a court filing also said legal expenses for UND and the NCAA in the case have totaled more than $5 million. |
