what the heck is a lol machine?

i figured someone on this forum would know i heard someone say it in a chat room, and i have
no idea what the hell they were trying to get at lol thanks to anyone for some input

I always took it to mean laugh out loud. and sometimes, if someone says something funny or whatever, to point in the direction of their humor they would say something like lol @ machine or whatever.
