Indian Summer never ends

Jamestown Anniversary - misplaced focus.
I was reading this article on msn.com about the Queen of England visiting Jamestown for the 400th anniversary:

Judy Stillman of Portola Valley, Calif., timed a visit to her daughter in Williamsburg specifically so she could see the queen. “She’s our history,” said the 70-year-old Stillman. “England started everything we have now: the law, the wonderful Magna Carta, democracy. We need to know about England. We need to know about the queen.” Yeah - they need to know about England - they need to know that they opened the flood gates to invaders who overran our land and who continue to try to suppressor our culture. They also need to know that without the NDNs, the English would never have survived Jamestown. Sorry about the rant - otherwise it's a nice day out today...

I saw the "indians" that met with the Queen on CNN the other day. I wonder what her impressions were of them? Not that it matters, but its pretty weird to have people make such a big deal over a FOREIGN Queen, whom is really no longer relevant. I suppose if the whites had been happy with what they had 400-500 years ago in Europe, they would not have had reason to invade our nations in the first place.

My son and I had a similar discussion. If it wasn't for the English, this would be a totally different country, and probably a better one. She is not my history, that's for sure.
