Remember the Tribal Voice Cassette? In da 80's John released a recording of his poetry with background singing....Quiltman and Madeline and I believe an Oglala (longhair family). I saw John live when I was a teen and met him and have visited with him from time to time since...I've always had a great respect for him and his music. He's down to earth. He's been in several films...Powwow Highway, On Deadly Ground, and Thunderheart to name a few...John has released a few CD's since then, but the Tribal Voice recording is my fav...

I saw he and Quiltman perform a few years back at Dartmouth. It was really good.

I saw him at the Wetlands in NYC a bunch of years ago with Mark Shark and Quiltman. He was intense. Silvercloud and Ulali openned. Quiltman has an awesome voice.

Wetlands was a cool club but I hear it was closed down.

The Tribal Voice cassette is red with hawk's head sketched in black....

Billy I remember Wetlands....Used to jam with Kev and the boys from time to time as well as Ulali....

Just got a new copy of Tribal Voice at a powwow a couple weeks ago. It brings back some memories. Heard him at Fitzgeralds in houston back in '92 or '93.
