You know nothing about this art form, nor culture. Stay off our thread if you're going to be all negative. I refuse to using foul language on you. You're not even worth those tiny words. Go spread hate and discontent on some other thread. Begone with you...

Personally, I love the music. But I understand that some people don't. However, this thread is upbeat and positive and it feels good to me to know that there are young folks out there that have an interest in the fine arts. Music is good for the soul and spirit.

Musical Software
OneidaDreamer,
I have a question that I'm sure you can answer. Is there anyway that I can find software that will turn my poems into songs? I have several poems that I would like to be able to pick the music that I want and add the music to the poem. Thanks for your help. I can't write music. I could when I was in junior high school but I forgot now. ![]()

Tech Support and What Not
Um, you may want to consult the staff here on tech support. Or perhaps the software Midi or some other digital software of such calibre. I'm no tech nerd, I'm just a RPG/Sci-fi/Comic Book/Fantasy/Audiofile and other such sundry things.
Good luck on your search. Peace OD ![]() Quote:

I'm a student of hip-hop and it's a part of me! Just a former female breaker/dj posting. Digable planets is my absolute favorite... So glad their touring, again. Got tickets for the phoenix show..in november. I've been to so many digable shows that ladybug is now my friend. Shes the sweetest, ever! |

In my old hometown Black and Red were synonymous.
I Am a Rock musician, ( No not the "Slipknot" guy, We just have the same taste in masks) but I've noticed i have a hard time relating to other rock musicians, who seem to take themselves too seriously. On the other hand i can sit with a hip-hop group and laugh and act the fool all night. I think it's identifiably, i can relate to a cat from around the way better than a white kid from suburbia. |

I just read through 5 pages of this thread. I just found it and wanted to get up to speed:
I've been in the music production business for over 30 years. I've mixed everything from audio for someone's home movies to some of our biggest drums. I've also worked in rock, country, R&B, Rap, Blues, classical, and some way off base stuff. I even tracked and mixed some stuff for Irene Bedard and her husband Deni. So you could say that I have been around. Just because you don't care for a form of music means nothing. Someone does care for the form so it should be respected as an art form. Lyrical expression as in the rap format is a creative way to express oneself. No different then rock, country, or some of the old standards. Instrumental music is also a way to express feelings. No different then oil on canvass and the expression of the artist. Sure we can say that we don't like the four letter words and racist comments but, that's exactly how many talk on the streets. Even on the Rez. In rap, and hip hop, cutting and looping beatz is an art by itself. Some people rip and cut up music to form the beatz. Others take the time to make the sounds themselves with expensive music and audio gear. Still an art and science. You need not respect the artist for the lyrics but respect the art form as a creative form of expression! One more thing to look at is, Why didn't the parents teach the artists that has objectional lyrics a different way? For that matter, where were the parents when the artist was impressionable? Setting an example is the best way to teach our young. You can agree or disagree but remember, You gotta live your life!
