Is a Picture Truely Worth a 1,000 Words?

I have to date been accused of being a Cherokee, stalked by a man married to an Iroquis who seemed strangely delighted to seem me (though I had no idea of who he was), told with great certainty that I must surely have Seminole blood and most recently informed that I resemble every Choctaw that someone else had ever met.

Being the ever ignorant outsider to your culture that I quite admittably am, is it really possible just to look at someone and tell from which tribe their native heritage springs? Is it some kind of funky Native version of the old practice of mapping a person's body in order to determine their aptitude for criminality or is there really anything to this at all?

Questions abound.

You probably just have "that girl" look to you and resemble someone that somebody knows. Why are you complaining sounding so offended? Seems like everyone that has said this to you is saying you resemble someone they care about, and not some scabby skank.

I'm just being cheeky as always. You try having people for the entirty of your life asking "What are you?". Sure it is always amusing to come up with strange answers but it does seem to wear on one. Particularly the ones who are insistent enough to make presumptions. I have in the past be argued down by people insisting that I'm one of them! (laugh)

I also have been asked if I'm from every country in South America, every island in the sea and various parts of Asia. Most people would hardly call me a "that girl". People say that I am very exotic looking, that I don't look like someone who was born in this country. They say even my accent is strange, like that of someone who has traveled most of my childhood. How does that saying go? Ah, yes...I am a mystery wrapped inside of an enigma.

Love has little to do with it. It's mostly nosiness. Hell, even people I know for years on end eventually ask me.

As for my picture, that's classified. I did not ask if you would take a gander. I asked is such a thing truly possible.

i forgot you youngins dont know quality TV marlo thomas was "That Girl" and old tv show in the 60s...shes married(i think) to phil donahue...he was a talk show host...and yes "it" is female
