The Lumbee tirbe was way better than the tribe.....

Okay so if everyone is annoyed with TOTE guy er whoever, why does everyone keep postin in there giving him more and more points. To that matter CAN WE GET IN A BETTER TOPIC! This one has been talked to death.

If you really have that big of a problem with a tribe. Talking it to death isn't going to change anything. The Cherokees took away the Deleware Tribe's Fed. Recognition. No one talks about that. They're fighting to get it back. No one talks about that. I love their pow wow that to us is the kick off of the summer pow wow scene in Oklahoma. To me getting your Fed. Recognition TAKEN away is a big deal.

And for the record. Every tribe that IS Federally Recognized.....is in some way, "made" by the Fed. Gov't. If we weren't, we wouldn't be recognized.

Last I heard the Delawares closed up shop this week and are in limbo pending negotiations with the Cherokee Nation and the federal government. The issue at hand is jurisdiction, and the Cherokee Nation is just wrong in this entire situation.

Actually, if you think about it, for that TOTE guy to say the Lumbee Tribe was made by the government doesn't really make sense because they federal government doesn't even have a relationship with the Lumbees. And they existed politically and culturally prior to the Lumbee Act of 1956 so you can't even bring that up.

I know on the other thread there was a lot of talk about nation and tribe, but if you think about it it's a government-to-government relationship...not a nation-to-nation relationship. There is a difference.

No that isn't why I posted my own thread! *L* I just wanted to say something but not give points to someone I feel is really......mean. Plus that thread is just getting kinda weird.

On a lighter note.....I got to play with a Furby this weekend. It spoke Furbish but you can teach it English. I wish I had been younger when it came out so I could've had one. I think I was 16 when they first came out. Or 18...back around 94'-95'. I love those little guys.

Yeah You'll love it for a full 6 months and then you'll find you'll be putting him in deep sleep mode for weeks at a time LOL!! I gave mine away... he drove me nuts!!! I did like to watch him dance though.. doo doo doo...

do they have to be teens? I would have loved to stick tay in deep sleep mode yesterday after hearing her jabber for 2 1/2 hours stuck in traffic yesterday.... it was like playing 200 questions!

Who did you try to call?
Where do they live?
Did I know them when I was a baby?
Do they have kids?
Am I gonna get to know them when I'm big and grown?

My little girl saw some Furbies and said, "Look daddy, a bear!" I told her that was a Furbie and she said, "Hey Furbie Bear!" LOL

On a more serious note, I am fully supportive of the Furbies and their quest for federal recognition.

ive heard that my little pony is trying to block the furbess getting recognition and are paying an lobbyist to solicit members of congress to block the recognition... :-)
