GOV. EASLEY REAPPOINTS RICHARDSON TO N.C. INDIAN HOUSING AUTHORITY


RALEIGH – Gov. Mike Easley has reappointed Joseph Oliver Richardson of Warrenton to the N.C. State Indian Housing Authority.



Richardson is a part-time instructor at N.C. Wesleyan College. He is the secretary of the tribal council for the Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe and a member of the board of directors for Twin County Rural Health Center and Arcola Rural Fire Department. Richardson received his bachelor’s degree in social studies from Appalachian State University, his master’s degree in education administration and education specialist degree from East Carolina University and his doctorate in education administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.



The board is responsible for providing decent, safe, sanitary housing for low-income Indian families. There are 11 members on the board, each serving five-year terms. The governor appoints all members.
