awareness concerning Leonard Peltier's false imprisonment and the war
like condition's of Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the early 1970's.
Directed by Peter Christopherson and contain's live performance
footage,
as well as scenes from the documentary "Incident at Oglala".

No , there are no natives in the band... but RATM has always been a very political rap group talking about everything from politics to human rights, especially for the minorities. I've always loved these guys!

[B]I'm very glad you posted this! My husband loves RATM, but he hadn't seen the video yet, either. Being from Pine Ridge, growing up just a few miles from Jumping Bulls, and now having my family living in Wounded Knee, I often wonder if people "Out There" still remember what happened during that time. It seems like history, but the ramifications of those events are still being felt today. Not as excuses for the poverty, illiteracy, and alcoholism, but the ripple effects of the early 70's will be dealt with for many generations. My second Mom is a Wounded Knee veteran, Joann Tall, and she is still dealing with her own part in what happened. I am glad that I can go to her with news about this song and now this video, which will be a comfort as she contemplates her friend Leonard, patiently sitting out time in prison. Thanks to RATM, and I hope that more people become aware of their important social and political stands that they so bravely make. All minorities should support any voice that speaks on our behalf.[/b]

I have always heard rumors that RATM had native members, whether or not its true, I dunno. They certainly do have a native attitude. The group is among my favorites, dont like rap too much, but they are a group that does most of their own stuff, not taking too much from sampling and being original. That gets points in my book!
