Riverside Indian School Braves to State

Just to let everyone know, The Riverside Indian School Braves are in the Oklahoma State 3-A basketball playoffs. To my knowledge, this is the first time in several years, or could be the first time all together, for the Braves to progress this far.
My brother, RG Harris, is the assistant coach for the Braves and we are all very proud of his accomplishments with this team. This is his third year coaching and he is doing a great job.
Our team consists of students from throughout indian country and they represent our culture and our love for the game of basketball with the best of their abilities. They are also excellent students, exceling in the classroom as well as on the court.
They will be playing this Thursday in OKC, Ok.
Riverside is located in Anadarko, Oklahoma. So send your positive thoughts our way!!!!LOL Go Braves!!!

thanks to all the relatives and friends who came from Pawnee and Ponca City to the game on Friday. Renee and George Alexander, The Hamilton family, The Brady's(Poncho, Tooky, Rylan, Cheyenne and Baby Johnna Grace). Several of the Stroud Fans came and supported. Thanks to all of you. I didn't get a chance to visit, but I appreciated you supporting our team. (I was into that game and when the kids are playing....I am totally focused on their efforts). So, just saying thanks and inviting you to OKC to see our kids go for the gold ball. Sandy

Riverside will play Sequoyah Tahlequah at 7:00 Thursday at the State Fair Arena. Sequoyah is also a indian boarding school team. so, they got paired up against each other right away. LOL
So, come support you high school indian teams for the state of Oklahoma.
Pat Moore's son Preston plays for Sequoyah, so there will be some good ball playing going on.
Riverside has 3 starters from North Dakota and two from Oklahoma. The three N.D. players are all cousins. LOL
Go, Braves and Go "G"

Riverside has an awesome team. Watched them play last year. Didn't get to see them this year, too busy sewing. Husband went to watch granddaughter, Jenna Plumley (plays for Frontier) play for their division title. Frontier boys and girls team rock! Am sure Riverside put on a good show - "G" is an awesome coach!

Riverside Braves lost 55-50 to the Oklahoma Christian Saints today for the championship. This was an awesome game, we led the whole game and then the last three minutes, well.....that's the way it goes sometimes.
The Braves had an awesome crowd of supportors, nothing but indians in that building as far as you could see. Thanks to all those for your support. Braves take home the silver ball in a good season that brought all the tribes from Oklahoma, and some tribes from out of state, to one arena to support our young athletes.
Good season, G!!!! The first time EVER Riverside Indian School Braves made it to the BIG HOUSE, and we brought home the Silver Ball.

Give a big pat on the back to our North Dakota Boys:
Chris Rainbow STanding Rock Sioux
Jordon Rainbow STanding Rock Sioux
Brandon Bearstops Spirit Lake Sioux
Mike Garreau Cheyenne River Sioux

All of our team wore warm up shirts that had their name on the front and thier tribes on the back. Alot of people became aware that there are many, many tribes at Riverside and they can and do play some serious basketball. LOL
