And why wouldn't he? Look in the mirror, what do you see? A man looking back at you. He looks in the mirror, what does he see? A man looking back at him. You are no better, nor worse than he is. It is unfortunate if you have a problem with that concept; but thanks for being honest.

So chalk it up to a misunderstanding and leave it at that - tell him - not interested and move on - sheesh - don't hold it against him - he likely is as embarrassed about it as you. You guys must be pretty young and his gay-dar isn't quite fully developed. If a women approaches you and you say no - you're still flattered right - why would it be different with a man? |

Put very well, Singing Eagle.
By the by, since you're a guitar groupie you'd love this...I'm going to Dallas first week of June to see Eric Clapton in concert! Man oh man! |

If a woman approached me I probably would be more easy going about, because it is a more common thing.
But, I said that he was supposed to be my friend. I don't know if you understand men, but if I say so-and-so is a good friend I don't mean I want to turn gay all of a sudden. I consider myself a man's-man. I like football, boxing, cheerleaders, and my favorite colour is Black. I think I'm being pretty cool about stuff compared to some people. Trust me it took alot to contain my first reaction. I guess I was wrong about posting on here for you all to judge. I can see how people get chased off here, people think they know too much when all they know is what is in front of there faces.

We are not 'judging' you nor are we trying to run you off. Personally, it just saddens me to read how judgmental YOU are and how willing you are to write someone off as less of a person because they are Gay. Does that make any sense to you at all? By the way, I know Gay men who enjoy sports like boxing and football--and no--it's not that they are crotch watching either. So far all I keep reading is stereotypes. You are missing a whole lot of life if you can't be open to the diversity of people out there. I'm sorry for you, really, I am. |

I may be a woman but I have brothers and a husband so I do know guys. And I think it's too bad that your good friend stepped over a line and made you feel uncomfortable. It's too bad that your friendship is in jeopardy because of his mistake. I'm not taking sides for or against your reaction to the situation. I hope that with time you may be able to continue a friendship but I respect that you require some distance for awhile. |
