Damn.... I hate to hear that.
Carl was such a good guy. He truly went out of his way to be a friend and speak to everyone. Even if he just gave a smile...... he made you feel good.
He loved dancing and gourd dancing. In the last few years he had started singing. He enjoyed all aspects of the circle. He will really be missed.
Rest well Carl.

Carl was a wonderful friend and powwow traveling partner, he will be missed very deeply. His kids have lost a wonderful father. Carl loved humor and to enjoyed life. Lets not dwell on the loss and remember the wonderful tmes we were able to have with him in his short life. Carl I know your watching down on us, and we will miss you.

That is sad news. Hopefully he is now pain free and dancing up there with his grandfathers and family. Our condolensces to his family and those who he left behind. To his family, Remember, Life is not just a physical existance, Life is a true spirit that will still live on.

Just keep dancing........

Gosh, I last saw Carl in July just before his diagnosis. Gone so quickly and so young... A sad, sad loss not only for his family but also for the powwow world.

Services will be this weekend in Indianapolis...

From his wife:

Dear Friends,

Sadly I want to inform you that Carl passed away on Friday morning after his fight with cancer. He went peacefully and I know that he is in a better place and not in any more pain. I think he is getting ready to chair a committee or plan an event by now!

We have made the following plans:

Friday, February 24
4:00 - 7:30pm Visiting Hours
7:30pm Memorial Service
Leppert Funeral Home
740 E. 86th St, Indianapolis

Saturday, February 25
12:00noon Funeral Mass
St. Susanna Church
1210 E. Main Street Plainfield
Internment following mass TBD

We are also planning on doing a memorial service in the summer somewhere in the Johnstown area.

Carl requested that people not send flowers in his memory. Instead, we are setting up a trust for the kids and a scholarship in Carl's name with his fraternity. More info to follow.

I am asking all friends and family to write a special story, memory or photo in order to make a book to keep for the kids and me. Please bring it with you or send it in the mail to:

Kelly Miller
10735 Cyrus Drive
Indianapolis, IN 46231

Pass this info along as there are many special people who cared about Carl and might want to join us in the celebration of his life.

I love you all!

Kelly

Carl was a great friend! He was a great sounding board for ideas and forever the guy driving us around to get to the pow wow. His great sense of humor will truly be missed. Carl may you rest in peace. Doksa.
