In Memory of my dog "Sandy"!
A little over an hour ago, I had to put my dog to sleep. Sandy was almost 13 years old. Her heart had too much fluid around it and she was having trouble breathing. This morning she layed down and never got up again. A friend of mine came over and we put her in a sheet to lift her into her car. I ttok her to the vet and they did X-rays. Told me they could drain the fluid off, but because of her age, it could return and there could be a tumer. I called my husband at work and he said to put her down, she's suffering. As I held her, I sang the song I made up for her and told her I loved her over and over. I knelt down at the head of the table while Julie injected her. I could sense when she took her last breath. She had a peaceful look to her. I'll miss her very much. I haven't gone home yet. I'm not ready to do that yet. I'll always love her! I told her she could go to Heaven and be with my dog "Kimba" & my horse "Sheik" who I had when I was a teenager.

Awwww, that's sad. We have a dog too, Diesel. He's our daughter's dog. He's very playful and full of energy. Remember all dogs go to heaven. Hope you get another pet to call, friend.

Awwww... my sympathies. I know how heartbroken I'd feel if my Kaiya passed. They might be dogs, but they are also members of our family.

Thanks for all your prayer and support everyone! I'm still greiving. I didn't eat for two days and ended up in the hospital Five of my friends came by yesturday, pulled me out of bed and took me out to Sizzlers to eat something. I ate jello, fruit and plain speggetti. True friends help. I have a memorial set up in the front AND back yard. I still havn't eaten a desent meal yet, but I'm getting better. At least I'm drinking fluids again. I know Sandy wouldn't want me to be this sad. She'd nuzzle me trying to get me back on "the road of life". Sundays message was on death and Heaven. Just what I needed to hear. I 've been playing a little game to try to get myself better: Any time I go somewhere, I look up to Heaven and say "Come on Sandy, let's go!" It's working

I feel for you LB. I've lost loved ones (4 leggeds) too. What has comforted me is knowing a part of them will always be with me, in my heart. We'll send some prayers for you and Sandy too.
