Unhappy

Sorry to hear of his passing, as he will be missed.

I had the priveledge of meeting him when I lived in Tahlequah for 12 years. He helped the Indian people especially the Native students and veterans who attended Northeastern State University.

He has come out to Colorado numerous times to serve as our M.C. / Head Gourd Dancer / Head Gourd Singer and has done an outstanding job. He himself was a veteran and was wounded in combat. My prayers goes out to his family.

Wake services will be held tonight, Thursday, May 26th at 7:00pm
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27th at 2:00 pm
Both the wake and funeral services will be held at Cedar Tree Baptist
Church in Briggs. The burial will take place at Reese Cemetary in
Peavine.

Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell has confirmed that the family has
decided to use Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. You can send all
flowers to the Family of Jake Chanate, Hart Funeral Home, 1506 North
Grand Avenue, Tahlequah, Ok 74464; their phone number is 918-456-8823
in case you would like to call them.

Directions:

To church in Briggs (Wake and Funeral Services): From the
intersection of Downing and the Bertha Parker Bypass, go North on Hwy
62, approximately five miles. Almost immediately past the B & J's
Salvage, you will see the sign and entrance for the Cedar Tree
Baptist Church (you will turn right). If you pass Briggs School,
you've missed it.

To Reese Cemetary: Go north on Hwy 59 from Stilwell (towards
Westville), Reese Cemetary is 'just around the bend' on the left side
of the highway, directly across from Peavine School (which is on the
right).
