RIP Soldier Boy

[size=6][color=Blue]In Loving Memory of Allen Alberts Sr, dad-brother-uncle-nephew-grandpa passed on February 16, 2005 with his family by his side.

February 14, 2005 I was washing clothes at my father's home but left shortly before 11:30am to pick my mother up for lunch. Lunch we were suppose to have at my dad's house at noon. I will never forget that day! We arrived at my dad's house at noon, I dashed downstairs to my clothes in the dryer, only to run back up stairs and run out of the house for help. My dad must have laid on the floor for more than 15 minutes without oxygen. A pulse gave the doctors and family hope for survival. He was lifelifted to Fargo MeritCare Hospital from Devils Lake, ND.

February 15, 2005 My brothers birthday! Happy belated birthday bro! The day the doctor wanted us to make a decision about our father. We decided to wait until we had my father's brothers and sisters at the hospital. We flew my aunt from Massachusettes into Fargo. A long night it was for me, tried to sleep hard and pray for my dad, maybe a miracle would happen! The doctor already told us that the brain was damaged because of the loss of oxygen.

February 16, 2005 The entire family in the waiting room. Waiting for the doctor to come and talk. We knew what we had to do, we didn't want our father, uncle, brother, grandpa, vietnam veteran to suffer anymore. We all gathered in his room to say our goodbyes and love you's. At 4:30pm the nurse pronounced him dead.

February 23, 2005 The day we buried our dad, uncle, brother, nephew, cousin, grandpa, our soldier boy. The next day is his granddaughter Lucille's 3rd birthday.

March 1, 2005 Happy Birthday dad! You would've been 60!

This was very hard for me, to loose my dad so early. At least I know he is happy with his mother, father, and little brother.

We all love and miss you dad! May you RIP!

My condolence to you and your family, I know what you’re going through my Dad passed away 14 years ago & he was 53 years old.

Holy elk, my thoughts and prayers are with you. It's painful to lose a parent. I can't say anything that will make it hurt less, so I'll just say I'm praying for you and yours.

I know just how your feeling.My Dad died 3 years ago and i took care of him as he was dieing.After he died i put a candle for him for 2 years after that i started feeling better.So the pain that you have in your heart will go away even if you don't feel like it will.Your Father was so young.My Father was 85 when he died.Take care

Holy Elk, I am so sorry for your loss - it has been 4 1/2 yrs since my dad passed and I still can't believe it. I don't think you ever get over it.

I received my fathers house. When I am sitting there, I tell myself that he'll be home. I keep thinking that he's gonna walk threw the front door and say "I'm home".

No I Don't Think you ever get over it but it does get better as time goes by.

Ya, i know what you mean.When i go visit my mom,i feel like my dad will be in his room.

sorry to hear about your loss....i lost my brother in an accident just a day before, so i know the feeling, its been a month now and things are still kinda crazy, but just be strong and cherish the good times :)

I still live in my dad's house, but I have to wait for probate to see if I have to pack up or stay? His room still has his smell, he always used to "sweat" and it smells like rose water or fir boughs, a real mountain, out doors fresh odor, only those that take ceremonial sweats know what I mean, my dad was a very religious, traditional, hunter, fisherman, and especially a good story teller, I often wait for him to walk in too....It's been a year now March 31, 2005. {*RIP Wilferd T. Yallup*} My condolences to all of you that are in grief, it's a hard road to travel but we all live to die; [B]it's the legacy that one leaves behind that matters most![/b]
