Unhappy I Miss My Kohkom

My kohkom died in December, she died quite quickly of a massive brain hemorage. Right before christmas. That was the day that changed my life forever.
I was rasied by my grandparents, i lived a life that i would do anyhting to live again. I learned the language of there birth, Cree. I learned the ways of the forest from my grandfather and the ways of a woman from my grandmother. From them them i learned things that they can never teach in school. I miss my kohkom,,i loved her more than anything else on earth. she was my rock and my heart and when she died i think she took it with her, now i struggle with these feelings of hurt, loss, pain, heart ache, lonelyness. i feel alone every day. i want to live the life i had but now that life is gone and iam struggling with this one and i sadly miss it. She was my life, my kohkom-my mother-my teacher-my hope-my evrything. Every day feels like that day in december....

Unhappy

I feel for you and I will keep you in my prayers. I have a granddaughter that is 3 now and I love her with all my heart. I imagine that is the way your Kohkum felt/feels about you. Please try to find comfort in prayers and know that your Kohkum is in a beautiful place where she feels no pain and also where she can be with her relatives that had passed on. Please live your life in a good way and know that someday you will see her again but you need to live your life as best that you can because that is what she would have wanted for you. My heart really feels for you on this day as I am too feeling sorrow over my first granddaughter that passed on, she was a baby but I still love her and still miss her. I find comfort in that I am raising her sister now but I still miss the first one. So live your life as there are loved ones that need your support at this time just as you need theirs. Love and prayers for you and your family.

sending you strength thru the winds, to swirl around you and give u comfort in such a time, as you are going thru. always remember all that your granny has instilled in you. though it has been years since my eskimo grandmother passed, i still connect with her, because i have learned that she is still - all around me - where ever i go, she is with me ... but, i had to learn this as i worked my way thru the sorrow of losing her in "body" (for now).
be blessed

I empathize. I lost mine a month before christmas and the other one almost two years ago and I still miss them very badly.
