500+Missing/Murdered Native women in Canada

i have a website located at www.missingnativewomen.ca which addresses the fact that there are in excess of 500 native women missing or murdered in canada.. Most of these are unsolved.we are in the process of building a memorial quilt which will act not only as a living legacy to our sisters but also a very important educational tool.
if you are interested in building a panel, please let me know.

I felt the need to reply to your post because i have watched the news concerning a little native girl missing in saskatchewan. I dont inderstand the process they are using to try and find her and from where I stand i dont see it as a missing childs case. To me it seems as tho she may have been abducted. I dont feel they are looking hard enough for her and do not take her case seriously. Our country has a big problem when it comes to Native missing reports, murders etc and it upsets me that abducters and murders run free while our precious people go missing. Its frustrating how the legal system treats our people, like we are sumthing not worth saving. I like your idea about the forum and would be interested in joining if you ever decide to start one up. Please let me know.My prayers are with the families of those that have lost loved ones thru tragedies such as this. We must be strong and band together and make it known that we as FirstNations people are werth the time and effort to have these cases solved.

i work in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver sometimes and I like the neighborhood. I have met some of the women who were murdered. I remember seeing one woman on the bus before she disappeared. I hate the way people look at us native women. I think the "majority" of society is the sickest. We didn't have child sexual abuse, or rape, and if someone did do that, they were banished and we respected each other and other life. (I'm speaking from an ojibway pov) and I see what's happening on the news all over the world. i think if people thought more like natives, i mean other nations, it would be a better world. i know for sure that our white brothers have lost their way. and when i hear about how other nations treat their women and kids it's just sad. i think our people are the most beautifullest people in the world.

Unfortuately our great country, home for the Queen, has rights for all, excepting of course First Nations People!! I have seen as well with my own eyes the regard for missing people, if they are any nationality but first nations they get instant tv coverage and swarming with cops of all kinds. In the first nations case you get the run around and then you get dust,,, the cops then throw the bodies in the snow banks in mid winter and hope they freeze and die,,, oh joy,,, luckily they were not oriental, then you would have helicopters swarming the sky, dogs sniffing the ground, all kinds of suspects wouyld be looked for and the mediea would go nuts, front page issues!!! First nations would get back page if at all,,,sorry folks we are not NEWS worthy. So tell me why do we still put up with this????

Here in Texas authorities found an NDN girl named Casey Jo Pipestem murdered.Thier attitude tho is she was just a prostitute an an NDN at that...so who cares,right? DAMNIT!!!!
a human being is a human being and should be treated as such.Mans law may not catch up to them but The Creator will get em for sure..

unfortunately 8 more names have been added to the list of missing women here. for more info you can go to the rcmp website. one was a woman from my mom's rez.
