Job Title: SOCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR

Organizational Relationship:

Reports to: Tribal Administrator
Directs: Social Services Staff
Other: Has contact with all tribal departments, Tribal
members, and the general public

General Statement of duties:

Provides leadership and directions for a coordinated management system of the Social Services Department. Promotes self-sufficiency for individuals, families, and the community.

Examples of Duties:

• Develops, implements and maintains guidelines and procedures for department operations
• Establishes and formulates goals and objectives for the department, and for each function within the department
• Develops and implements long and short-term plans for the department-primarily plans for services, staffing and budgets.
• Provides direction to subordinate management and staff in a matter of department operations.
• Coordinates, assign and delegates the activities and functions to the appropriate staff.
• Communicates and reports department operational information and activities to the Tribal Administrator.
• Provides direction to subordinates in determining eligibility requirements for applicants.
• Shall be knowledgable of other Bureau services, Tribal Programs and other community resources, which the applicant may be encouraged to utilize in resolving particular problems. Responsible for recognizing expressed or implied needs other than the request for financial assistance for determining whether there is a need for other help, and for making appropriate referrals.
• Seeks other sources of funding (i.e. grants) that may be beneficial to the program.
• Assures that all information remains confidential within the department for all staff.
• Coordinates multiple funding sources and answers any and all challenges from the funding source and within the time scale promulgated.
• Performs other duties as may be relevant to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Business Administration or a related field and five (5) years related work experience.

Licensed as a Social Work in the State of Texas.

Position is opened until filled.

Work Period is Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum pay is $30,000 annually and Maximum Pay is $43,000 annually.
