Is there a proper hand position for jingle dancing? I was told by someone that the proper hand position was the hand not holding your fan was on your hip, to the back with your thumb right on the seam of your dress. I was told it is a symbol of being humble. However, every jingle dancer except two or three I've ever seen don't hold their hands this way. I want to do everything correctly, so if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it! Wado!

There really is not a proper way, just a popular way. lol.

Mainly do what you feel is comfy and right for yourself.

Do what you feel is comfy for yourself. There is no right or wrong way in which way to hold your hands.

It's still on your hip but it's backwards if that makes any sense. Instead of your fingers coming in the front, they go to the back and your thumb is on the seam of your dress.

oh oh i see, ive seen dancers both ways.

LOL when you mentioned you'd seen it another way i thought you were talking about having seen a dancer's hand in an unusual position like up in the air or something..
not that that would make any sense =P

Depends if I'm tired or not, I'll put my hand backwards on my hip. ayye.

Just do whatever is comfy, there ain't no right way or wrong way to put your hands.
