Beadwork and Headbands

As soon as I finish up a couple of orders, I'm gonna get started on my new beadwork for my jingle dress. I love the thinner headbands that go across the forehead and then using a smaller top/side barrette instead of the wide headbands that go on top of your head. I've made the wider ones before and just used velcro to attach them. How on earth do you hold the skinnier ones in place across your forehead? I thought about little clippies on the ends but I wasn't sure if that would hold tight enough or not. Any ideas?

Depending on the thinness of it, you could use elastic covered in satin or leather ties (your barrette would cover these up) on the ends. Hope that helped.

gorilla glue? or that hair glue they use in solons..or you can be like my mom and use wet gel n hairspray along with her velcro...when the gel and hairspray dry they bind the velcro really good.....almost like hair glue...

Does the velcro pull out some hairs when you take it off?

It did mine some. Krypes muh hair got thinner as I get older, I can't afford to lose any more. lolol. After powwow season I had layers. ayeee.

so, with the velcro, once you get your beadwork done, do you sew it onto the velcro with the velcro side facing the outside, and then just stick the velcro to your hair? Do you use anything else to help it stay in place? I would love to make one of these, but would hate to have it fall off right in the beginning of Grand Entry or somethin.
