I need help on this

I need some serious help on this issue. I have material sitting over there to make my first jingle dress. I have been waiting to make it until I feel I have done all of the research and prayed about the design. Ok, here is the issue: I was browsing the trading post and found a jingle dress that I can in no way afford but, if this makes any sense at all, I almost started crying when I saw it. I have a very specific color scheme that I use for almost all of my dresses and beadwork and this dress fit that perfectly, but that wasn't the big thing. The big thing was the fact that it had a hummingbird and pink flowers. I just completed a cloth dress with those same pink flowers and purple hummingbird in honor of my grandmother. She was the reason I decided to start dancing jingle but before I could dance it, she passed away. We watched her slowly die of cancer and it was hell.

I can't get this dress out of my mind for three weeks now and I know I can't afford it but I e-mailed the lady asking about the possibility of a trade and explained the story. She offered it to me at a price that I can maybe afford but it will still be tight. I have seriously cried like three times over this dress because I feel that connected to it. I feel like Creator put it there for me to find and I should have it. I can't explain it really.

Do you ladies think the fact that I feel so strongly means it is meant for me to have it? I need some help on this! Thanks and sorry so long.

It sounds to me like the dress is ment for you to have, if it matches that closely to something you already have, and you say the person saling it was willing to work with you on the price. If you can't get the dress out of your head and you feel that strongly about it then I say go for it.

Your story did speak to me. That is why I lowered the price and worked with payments. I really wanted the dress to go to a dancer who would truly love it. My daughter is no longer dancing so I am glad that you will keep it in the circle. Enjoy

I can't thank you enough! Trust me, you have made me the happiest person alive right now. I cannot wait to get it. I started on the beadwork designs last night. Right now I'm trying to finish beading a fancy shawl yoke before I get started on it though. Thank you again so much!

CherokeeMom, it is considerate of you to ask questions about the dress and all. We all do what is in our hearts and in our souls at that time of dress making. If we want to purchase a dress somewhere that we see and like, then by all means, do so! If it's in your strongest feelings to buy then do it. As long as you are out there respecting all aspects of the jingle dress you are doing just fine.

Same here...It really does sounds like dress was meant for you to see it...

If you can't afford it now...the creator will find a way for you to get it...= ]

That's what I said. I prayed about it and after I made up my mind that the creator would provide a way, I just decided to go for it. The next day I had someone e-mail me about a full regalia beadwork order that would more than pay for the dress. It will be a couple of months before the money starts coming in for it but it should offset the dress. In case any of you are wondering which dress I am talking about, here it is.

Wado, everyone!
