I'm sorting some cope lids and while some of them are usable, I have some with rust spots or rust on the edge of the lid.
1. How do I get rid of it if I want to use them still? 2. If I can't get rid of the rust spots on the edges, what can I use to roll em to get them a little bit bigger than pencil width (the skinny ones and/or the fat ones? I can trim the rust off some but getting the size I want is another story.) Any suggestions?

My brother took about 10 years to collect all my daughters jingles and even though he kept them in a safe spot, some did show signs of rust. We cleaned the rust off first, then I buffed them with Prism Polish. Then I rolled and then sprayed with a light layer of spray Rustoleum Lacquer in Clear. They look like new lids and are great after a year.

another tip is to make sure not put up your dress when the cones are damp from a evening of dancing. It is a bit of a pain BUT it will prolong teh life of your cones. I have a friend that the cones on her dress are bad. because of it.
