I have been participating in Powwows for a relatively short time. I am currently dancing Southern Cloth, but I would like to start learning/dancing Jingle. Can anyone give a suggestion on getting started? Any tips?
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Talk to some of the jingle dancers you admire. In a good way, ask questions of those you respect. Talk to some of the elder folks in your community. Find out as much as you possibly can about the dance and see if you are interested still. Then take it from there.
Hope it helps :)

And if you still are interested, go to pow wows and watch the steps from the other dancers.
You can learn a lot that way. Then you have to practice. And the dress: as with the other dances, too, take colors from your tribe or colors you like. The dance should be your way of expressing a big THANK YOU! Hope I could help :D
