Question New traditions started...

I want to make a dress for my little girl. She has just turned 3 years old but I dont want to do any thing wrong with the traditions (Like make a dress out of the wrong matterials, symbols, or colors.) I want to make a true prayer dress for her. She has a heart condition that still needs to be checked out but, I'm told shes ok for now. I wanted to get her into some thing she can be active in, learn things & actualy have a sense of pride, that I missed out on in my life. I want to do this as a way to thank the Great Spirit for making her so strong. She has been my insparation. So I want to make her a jingle dress, as a way to say stay strong & proud. Please share your feedback & info on this cause its ultra important. I will need to get pattern info, dance info, tradition info, just to name a few. So any thing you guys & gals out there can share I surely would appriciate it. Thanks so much for listening.
