why do so many people have less jingle cones and more decoration like ribbon work?

I was just wondering why do jingle dress dancers have so much decoration it looks tacky. In my opion. And knowing they don't have no more that 100 cones on their dress.

lol, well the woman on the video said that they have less cones so that the dancer can dance faster and can be lighter on her feet, i guesss that kind of makes sense but whatever.
i don't have any more than 210 jingles on my dress but i only chose to do it that way because it's my contemp dress and i have short sleeves. on my more traditional dress yeah, i plan to have have the 365 jingles with longer sleeves.
i was also told that for tradtional jingle dress dancing, it's not so much the dress that determines which style you are dancing, it's the way you move your feet.

i didn't mean i learned it from a video.a woman who had been dancing for most of her life told me.
whome, i don't really understand your question about why i'm putting 365 on my traditional dress.
i know that some women put 365 jingles on their dress even if it's contemp or traditional. i just figured i'd put 365 on my traditional dress since i didn't put that many on my contemp.
also in another thread, someone made a very good point.our traditions shouldn't be based on the roman calander anyway.but that's a whole other discussion....

thanks for the info pretty Indian

Okay thanks Pretty Indian for the info. Thats the first time I have ever heard a jingle dress refered to a contemperary dress. Thats kinda weird to call something contemp when its a fancy dance anyways, but traditonal. So why make it more confusing? I danced jingle when I was younger. But this will be the first time I will sew and make my jingle dress do you have any advice? I don't know if I want sequence leggings are beaded. I have a 3yr old so I stay busy. Thanks

Help?

I have another question does Apache's wear t-dresses and what accerories do they wear like a breastplate etc. I do wear the camp skirt and the velvet long sleeve shirt with concho's on the shoulder. I just want to wear something cooler. I also dance comanche. I really want to dance my tribes regalia. so if any one can tell me or show me a picture of what a t-dress looks like and other items they wear. I have seen beadedchokers with loom beading attached to the chocker. those i know are apache style.
