If it was an old style jingle dress special

what would you expect from the dancers such as: no plumes, no fans, no fancy moves etc...what about the songs? just side steps or straight songs?

i have been a jingle dress dancer since i was the age of about 4 years old. I have been taught that jingle dress dancers can carry a fan but not to raise it on the honor beats, im a traditional jingle dress dancer so my answer may be a little different than others. my personal opinion on the steps is that there really shouldnt be any fancy moves to it. some people get extremly carried away with that and it just doesnt look the greatest. Ive been taught to dance the traditional ay of jingle dress. As far as the songs go, i dont know about that one, but for the side step i have been taught the traditional way and that is to do the "washboard". dancing to straight songs i just do the traditonal footwork and weave back and forth. AS far as plumes go, I was given a plume for my jingle dress but it was to be put on the side and not in the middle of my head, also i was taught to take the plume out for the side step if i can. I hope this helps

well it depends on what the sponser wants to see, if the sponser wants side steps then sidesteps it is. the one in hinckley is an example, its all sidesteps, mainly to see who can last the longest, who looks good and can keep up. straight songs are ok, just as long as they have three or four speeds. medium, med fast, and ending fast with a tail all songs should have a tail...then again it all depends on the sponser.
