Putting on jingles

Is there any other ways to put jingles on besides using bias tape? That kind of looks bulky to me. Maybe it's just the kind of bias that I'm getting. I've seen some dresses done with a thinner form of bias or something. Are my eyes deceiving me?

Are you matching the bias tape to your fabric, it'll blend easier that way. You could get away without using bias by layering your fabrics, but using bias tape for jingle dresses is the easiest way to make them.

Hey, I think I understand what you're saying. (I think lol)

1/4 inch double fold bias is sturdy and looks pretty good depending on the width of your jingles.

I use the thin bias tape to tie the jingles and then I use the double fold for putting the rows on the dress..it always looks good when I get done.

I usually get some of the fancy special occasion bias tape and make it part of the design. If you get a different color than your dress it really stands out.

So, use the same color bias as the dress? I will try the thinner bias to tie on jingles. That sounds like it would work better. Thanks for all the advice everyone.

i wouldnt recommend useing anything else than bias tape..i dunno bias tape seems to last longer..when your trying to put on jingles its best to have something sturdy that will hold the jingles that way they dont fall off.... you can get thin bias tape and it would probably be better for you..i know at jo ann fabrics here in toledo , ohio (they have a on line website) where you can buy bias tape in bulk which i recommend considering its cheaper instead of buying it in individual packages...i bought it in idividual pkgs when i made my first jingle dress long ago and i payed lot of money just to make my jingle dress..learning experience you would call it...

So, would I use the 1/4 inch for attaching them to my dress and also for the jingles? Or do I use the wider for attaching to dress and 1/4 inch for the jingles? I just found a website that has fusible bias. Could that work to?
