rolling jingles

hi im gonna post one more thang before i go...i always wanted to learn how to roll them pencil width and i could never do it...does any one have any suggestions? i practice rolling many times and i still suck...my jingles turn out horrible sometimes

Did you trim your lids? Are you using needle nose pliers? Have you a small piece of leather to hold the sharp edges? With the needle nose pliers, hold the middle of the trimmed lid and use the piece of leather to mold the lid around the needle nose pliers. This technique will not give you perfectly round cones but more of a geometric type shape and you'll still have your pencil thin lid or close to it. I'm sure somebody knows how to do the very old style of cones which probably requires one of those cylindrical type metal tools.

i never used leather before...usually i buy the lids already trimmed...where is the cheapest place to buy a metal cylindrical tool at?

Rolling Tool

My hubbies Uncle knew of a guy who worked in a metal shop we sent in a cone that I liked and he took dementions from that and made anifty handle on it has a real nice grip on it ,cant price them all it cost us was a case of diet Coke. My hubbie rolled them wearing very thick leather gloves and he still sliced up his hands, I tried to roll mine came out looking like taco's not a pretty picture.hope this gave ya'll some ideas.
