Braid

Hello!
I'm from Poland and I'm new on this forum.Sorry for any language mistakes:).
I'm planning dance in jingle dress on plish pow wows and I have some questions. On videos and photos from US pow wows all women braid their hair. It's becouse it's more practicle or it is a part of ritual, tradition.
My secend problem are lids. I found on-line store where packet of 100 lids cost 15.90$ and 100 cones cost 22.50$.
Is it noramal price, or I can have them from some chiper place?

For the cones, some people feel it's cheaper to roll on your own, you need a tool to roll the lids. I have seen other places sell the already rolled cones for less. But that price is average price.

As far as braids, not sure on the cultural aspect. Each culture has its own thing about the braids, in the powwow world its a normal way of putting your hair.
