Bundle of Nerves

For about the past year now, I've been preparing to Jingle Dance.
Praying, meditating, searching the net (alot of which was here....reading ya'lls threads), working on my dress with my MIL, etc.
Well now my give-away is a month away and I'm a bundle of nerves.
And of course it didn't help when Hubby was watching me practice and told me he didn't think I was doing my steps right.
(I don't have anyone to help me, I've been studying video tapes.)

So now, I'm a bundle of nerves....worried....and doubting.

I guess I"m posting here for some words of encouragement.....or for someone to tell me to back out now!

Just need someone to talk with about this I guess.....

Chin up... I think you'll do just fine.

Everyone gets nervous the first time they dance, and since it's your give-away it isn't helping with the tension. Give it your best and don't worry when you're dancing. I'm sure that others have felt the same way you're feeling right now.

Since I can't tell you how to do the dance or even if you're doing it right... all I can say is to do what you've been taught to the best that you can.

I remember my first grand entry... I was shaking... but you know what, I made it through and I enjoyed it.

I pray Creator guides your steps for your give-away and helps ease your tension.

Just make sure that every time you dance make sure you look like you know what your doing. Every time you dance, have that look on your face as if you were posing for a camera.

SingingDeer, I appreicate the advise....and the prayers! Espically the prayers. I need all the help I can get. I wish you were here to give me some daning tips.

And Trouble, I'll remember about the camera. You know, "look like you know what your doing"....that isn't the first time I've been give that advise. And it's good advise.
Like starting a new job, or moving to a new town. Looking like you know what your doing will conquer lots of nerves.

Dancing Creek, its normal to have nerves when your starting out but the best suggestion I can give you is not to think at all while you are dancing. When your too busy on deciding what steps to do you tend to forget the real reason why your dancing and you mess up. Believe me I have tried to create a dance flow that I would do often but failed. Each song is different and makes you feel different.

As time goes on you will learn to pick up steps. I still get nervous especially during competition. Also when there are awesome dancers. But just dance for you. Another great tip is try recording yourself on video, you will learn alot quicker of what you need to do to improve. We learn from our mistakes right?

Thank you kiiyaaniiasdzaa. That is excellent advise. I've noticed while practicing that if I concentrate too much I lose the beat and generally screw up! So I'll have to remember not to think while I"m in the circle.

And the taping! That's a wonderful idea. My youngest loves to run the camera so I bet I woun't have a problem getting to be my camera man!

Now I can breath a sigh of relief!
It went well!
All of it....the giveaway and the dancing!

I know I still have alot to learn, but I'm looking forward to learning it! I had alot of fun too!

Thank you all for helpful tips, now I just gotta work the soreness out of my calves! ;-)
