how you like it, fast or slow?(sidesteps that is)
Bet I got yalls attention with that! Anyway, I am a singer and would like a dancer's point of view on this. In the past I have noticed that some groups sing sidesteps very fast, as opposed to others singing them at a more moderate pace. Also, do yall prefer a contemporary style sidestep, or original?

it depends on how tired i am after the first song!!!
I kinda like the faster contemporary songs, but a nice old style song is always good. i really dont have a preference as long as theres a good beat.

As a side note, Last summer we were in Iowa and got fanned twice... it was damn hot out and a longer song. We started out medium and by the end of the song we were on turbo speed just to get out of the sun. So somtimes you can get it both ways! Last edited by sookout sh'nob; 10-08-2004 at 11:39 AM. |

slow to medium
I think when its slow to medium one of course its easier, but its more controlled and looks more graceful and you can concentrate on why you are dancing in the first place and dance it properly when the beat gets too fast for some ladies its all out of control and becomes more about keeping up with the beat and looks all over the place there are a lot of women out there who can dance very very well at the fast beat but I guess I am prone to old style so to me slow is fast...
