My introduction :)
Not sure what to write.
My families came from Nc during the 1700-1800's. they moved down into the south carolina areas during the early 1800's.....then moved into paulding and caroll counties in ga during the early to mid 1800's. My grandma moved her kids out to atlanta around 1950. And thats where I grew up. from 1989-2004 I was a graffiti artist. then I did the dj and bboy (break dancing) thing until about 2004.......I was also part of Atlanta's original rave/dance scene in 1994 which I ended up getting out of around 2002 because of drugs taking over the scene really bad and people had stopping understanding that the whole thing was about accepting life and all things on this earth.....about breaking the barriers of people seeing people of different races as a seprate people. I still do my art thing but now it's mainly canvase work only. My grandmother helped raise me until she died....after she died I really had no one else to teach me of her ancesters culture. I ended up getting married....and thats where I am today :) On my dad's side I'm the great great great great etc grandson of john jeffries/jeffers of nc. vardy collins of tenn/nc was my great great great etc uncle. I also have several other family lines that trace to the lumbee, saponi, and catawba areas however them lines are hard to pinpoint exactly which of the 3 tribes they was. On my mother's side of the family her parents was nona collins and robert marion yarbrough (I have never been able to trace her family line past her parents). Well thats my introduction :) |

Oh I'm part irish as well :) I just do not exactly know which family members was the irish ones.
I'm also descended from the "walter Newman" in which newman's ridge was named after.....however I know very little of the guy other than he was a long hunter and that he was one of the few in the long hunter party which did not write anything of the people the party met at newman's ridge......I wish I knew more about him but I do not.....I just know I am descended from him and that I still carry his last name. |
