Hi there, my name is Tara and I'm originally from Columbus, Ohio. I currently live in Northern California. I've joined because I know very little about my Native American ancestery. It was told to me that my great grandmother was 100% Cherokee and that her brother was some sort of healer in a tribe but that may or may not be true. I know so much about the other parts of my make up (itallian, german and irish) but so little about the part that is Cherokee. I'm sorry if I offend anyone because of my ignorance, I just really want to find out more so that I can pass that knowledge onto my little boy and that he can take pride that he has such a rich heritage all around.

Welcome Tara you will find this a very interesting and educational place. Don't feel bad there are alot of us out there in the same situation as you, trying to trace our Native roots.

I hope you find what you are looking for. You will find the folk on here an amazing font of knowledge. They collectively know more than what is in those dusty old tombs and librams in all the libraries across this Turtle Island. And the info will be concise and light years more accurate.
