My name is J. Stuart Denman
My parents gave me this name and if you want to talk to me, this is how you should call me.
I am not a Native American and I am not a "Wannabe".
I am a human being, like all of you.
I am like some of you in some ways and not in others.
I am who and what I am.
I hope most of you can understand this.
I am not interested in powwows or ethnology or Native American Traditions.
This is not a game, hobby or interest.
This is me. From the inside out, bottom to top, all around me.
I don't try or pretend, I just am me, and I'll never be you.
The things that I do come from within and I don't know why.
Why worry about it?
I started dancing in 1975 in Texas when I was 14.
Went to lots of powwows with my Mom, made a lot of freinds (native and non) and was happy.
At 16, I was Straight Dancing and making fans when Harry Buffalohead asked my Mom if she would let me come and live with him.
I'm telling the truth.
We said no because my Dad would have lost his marbles.
Throughout High School, did a lot of powwows in Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Louisiana etc....
Graduated, went to college (1 year almost), joined the Army (5 years), got married, had a child
and left to join the French Foreign Legion.
Been in the Legion for 23 years now. Married with 2 kids living in France.
Just started making fans again, going to powwows in Germany and spending time on Powwows.com.
Guess I should have done this from the beginning but nobody's perfect.
I'd sure like to be there with y'all but can't do it yet.
If anyone comes over here, you gotta place to stay.

If your NOT interested in powwow, ethonology or Native American traditions, why are you drawn to be on this website? I'm confused by what you stated, since it sounds contradictory. I've read some of your other posts and you seem "aghte" as my teenager would say. I think its interesting you would be off in the Foreign Legion, how many people do you ever hear that statement from, besides those on the bigscreen?

thanks WW and EP. What I meant was that what I feel goes deeper than just interest. I don't feel like an outsider looking in. Soma people don't like that but that's the way I feel, especially when I'm with people who accept me as I am.
