All the things you mentioned like radishes, cucumbers, lettuce, zucchini, and tomatoes are perfect to grow for summer. You are doing a wonderful job. Folder's coffee cans work well to grow your vegetables in. I love tomatoes with zucchini and I put vinegar and oil on them. Do you make lots of dishes for your family?

This is so coooooolllll!!!! I really like reading what everyone is doing...it's very motivating. Congrats Eap on your lifestyle change...keep it up!

Well, I'm going to try to "decolonize" my eating even more than before...lol. At the beginning of last summer I cut out all wheat products, except some fiber 1 cereal to sprinkle on my yogurt, and I cut out all rice and pasta. I did feel really good doing that. I ate all the fruit I wanted and ate alot of salads with chicken and nuts and other proteins and healthy fats. I felt good but I really got away from that this year. Time to try that again cuz eating the brown rice with chicken ain't cuttin it...lol.

Got to stay with Ol'Girl on my way to a funeral in Michigan last week and she eats very healthy! Lol....no wonder she is disappearing. Me and the girls ate oatmeal and she got me to try some protein powder and mixed berries mixed in my oatmeal...it was really good and stayed with me longer than just oatmeal by itself. Thanks for the Tim Horton's coffiee too!!!

Okay, going to go for a run before it rains and before I settle in to work on budget files.....yuck.

Thanks! Day one of the decolonization eating and going good...lol. I went for my run, then for my lunch I had a big bowl of progresso vegetarian black bean soup (no crackers even though they sounded good), and some slices of turkey and a bunch of water. Planning on buffalo patties (no bun...lol) and roasted veggies for dinner tonight. Gotta shop for some good fruit since we just got into town from my aunt's funeral.

I'm a big sweets person, so for this week I'm going to try and go cold turkey....to see if I can push past that big craving point and get to where I don't crave sweets anymore. That's my big downfall...when things get stressful at work I head for the chocolate chip cookies...lol. We'll see how that goes...wish me luck.

Good luck!

I need to jump on board and quit eating so much bread. One bite and I have to have 4 slices.

So I'm starting fresh today.

Shhhhh! Don't tell everyone about my stash of Tim Horton's! LOL!

Glad you liked my daily breakfast. Got that from a Beachbody product menu. I think it was the TurboJam.

Went to powwow in Lynwood, IL and danced with all the youngins. A jr girl who dances Ho-Chunk applique told me I was a good dancer! How nice of her! That's one of the reasons I still try to hang in there, besides just pure enjoyment. Thought I would be sore from the concrete floor. They did have astroturf to dance on though. I felt a little shin-splints coming on, but I ran/walked the next day anyway. Might try the elliptical today or maybe the rowing machine so there's no impact.

Wyo, that's me with the cookies...I eat one then I gotta have 4 more.

Handled Day 1 pretty well. Ended up eating taco meat at my moms last night cuz she cooked for us since we were all tired from our ordeal (Ol' Girls, we broke down on our way back Saturday in Iowa, right near Cedar Rapids where all the flooding was!!!!). I made a big salad out of it and only used 8 tortilla chips....lol. Had a peach for dessert. Dranks lots of water yesterday also.

Today, I had 1 cup of plain yogurt with 1.5 cups of strawberries and blueberries, mixed in 2 Tbs. of sliced almonds. I had to throw some splenda in though...lol.

Planned to go ride the bike and lift this morning since I ran yesterday, but I have to reschedule for this afternoon....putting my workout appointment on my calender with a reminder so I make sure I don't let it go.

So, how did you feel dancing Ol' Girl besides the small threat of shinsplints? How was your wind? We are hoping to dance this weekend in OK...we'll see how things go. St Croix is too far with the hubby teaching summer school.

My wind...hmmm...I do something extremely unhealthy that hinders my wind. I keep trying to quit, but it's a nasty habit that I've had for a very long time. :(

If you mean smoking then it's very addicting. My Dad smoked 2 1/2 packs every day. He was a wonderful man, but he's been smoking for a long time. He was a very active man with motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, and hunting.
If it's keeping you from enjoying yourself then you should try to quit. Have you tried the patches? I know it's hard to do, you have to retrain yourself. Good luck with it!

I worked out today to a DVD that I have, on my home gym and rode my exercise bike.

I haven't been doing it all that long, but I do see a difference already. My thighs are thinner and I don't have my love handles anymore, I didn't have much of ones to begin with and now I don't have them at all.lol

Hey, cool thread. Forgive me for not reading every post.

Gonna eat me some broiled trout & steamed vegies for supper.

Once a month try to do a liquidy diet thang. Doing that Sat n Sun. Body needs it, too. Way too polite with the desserts at friends party last weekend.
