Hi Mud Woman, I deleted part of my post because after I posted it, I felt it was too personal and a painful memory. My son is older now and very healthy, I never did tell him what his father did, he would of just thought of it as drama.....lol.

babies do go thru lil periods that they seem like they nurse all the time .... they are going thru or going to go thru a lil growth spurt ... so they nurse alot. it might seem like you're not making anything ... cuz they are nursing alot LOL (its like they are constantly hungry). but they are jus jump starting milk production for their next stage/level of needs. but as long as they are having wet diapers and at least one bowel movement a day ... they are doing ... well.

jus try to keep hydrated ... drink alot of liquids ... i mean alot of liquids LOL and dont give up

i understand where you r coming from. me to, i dont know if my daughter knows what really happened and why er dad and me seperated. about three month after we seperated, i visited her, and she wanted me to nurse her. i had to choke back my tears, caues i had no more milk, and her dad was telling her that was "dirty". i just wanted to kill him . . . and i still do to this day.

He's not right, what an idiot!

When my son was gone, I didn't know where he was, never knew when I would ever see him again, I prayed everyday for him to come back. Finally about 2 months later, his father dropped him off with me with nothing, no diapers, no clothes, etc. My son was hungry and when he saw me he wanted to nurse too but I knew I didn't have any more milk for him, I felt bad too but I was just happy to have my baby back. I was at a powwow and I went to some of my friends that had babies and told them my situation, they gave me everything I needed in an instant. Wow what a memory, still after all these years.

Wow! You ladies have been through some stuff! One thing we all have in common is that we love our children and want what is best for them! I truly believe that kids know that love, they can feel it in their core. Sounds like you all are doing everything you can to create that love bond!
As for moms with breastfeeding issues, yes, La Leche League is great! No only for BFing issues and support, but a great way to meet like minded moms! Somtimes the biggest support we need is just another mom saying "Yeah, this parenting stuff is hard!"

He is 4 now, and has been weaned since 2ish. When he gets stressed, he still climbs into my lap, snuggles in, and puts a hand on my boob. Then all is right in his little world.
