Finishing off bead work
I'm proud to say that I bead my own regalia; it has taught me a lot about myself and I always try to be in a good place when I work on it. I am finishing off my cuffs now but wonder if anyone has any suggestions on finishing them up; what should I back them with to protect the back side from sweat and what's the best way to finish off along the edges - should I just run the beads around them as if I were finishing off the top of a pouch? Also, to hold them in place so they don't slip down onto my hand, would you suggest leather ties or do I use something else. ( I want to stay away from metal and velcro just doesn't seem right).
Also, I'm attaching horse hair to the tips of my Red Tail hawk bustle; should I take the felt dot to the edge of the tip, or put it just below the tip? I've seen it both ways but some of you know the proper way. Thanks everyone who responds. Mike |
